8. Use of Products

DOSnet devices operate on the 915MHz AU915 ISM band under ACMA class licence. You are responsible for ensuring your use of DOSnet devices complies with all applicable Australian laws and regulations, including telecommunications legislation.

DOSnet devices are not designed or approved for use in safety-critical applications where failure could result in injury or death. They are not a substitute for emergency communication services.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website - including text, images, logos, and product descriptions - is the property of DOSnet / Earth Kinections or used with permission. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content without our written consent.

The Meshtastic name and project are open source and owned by their respective contributors. DOSnet is an independent retailer and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Meshtastic project.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DOSnet / Earth Kinections will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use or inability to use our products or website, including loss of data, loss of communication, or failure in emergency situations.

Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount paid for the product giving rise to the claim.

11. Lawful use clause

By purchasing any product from this store, you agree that you will use it only for lawful purposes and in accordance with all applicable Australian laws, including but not limited to the Radiocommunications Act 1992 and any applicable ACMA Class Licence conditions in force at the time of use. You agree not to use this device to coordinate, facilitate, or support any unlawful activity, including but not limited to activities that would breach the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth) or any equivalent State or Territory legislation. You acknowledge that all radio transmissions may be monitored by relevant Australian authorities in accordance with applicable law. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or reverse any order where we have reasonable grounds to suspect intended misuse, and to cooperate fully with any valid Australian law enforcement request.

12. Emergency beacon disclaimer

This device is not a registered Personal Locator Beacon (PLB), EPIRB, or emergency position-indicating device. It is not connected to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), Australian Federal Police, State Police services, or any other emergency response organisation. In a life-threatening emergency in a remote area, you must use a registered and activated PLB or EPIRB and, where mobile coverage is available, call 000. This product is designed for group coordination and communication within your party. It should not be relied upon as a sole safety device, substitute for emergency communications equipment, or replacement for adequate trip planning and emergency preparedness. We accept no liability for loss, injury, or death arising from reliance on this device as an emergency communication tool.

13. Radio compliance disclaimer

All devices sold by this store are pre-configured for operation on the Australian 915–928 MHz LoRa frequency band in compliance with the ACMA Low Interference Potential Devices (LIPD) Class Licence. You must not modify transmit power settings, frequency configurations, or antenna specifications beyond those supplied, as doing so may constitute a breach of the Radiocommunications Act 1992 and may cause harmful interference to licensed telecommunications services. ACMA infringement notices range from AUD $500 for minor breaches to AUD $10,000 for repeated or severe violations; wilful interference with licensed services may result in criminal prosecution. These devices are configured for Australian use only. International customers are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with the radio regulations applicable in their jurisdiction, and we make no warranty of compliance for use outside Australia.

14. Encryption limitation disclaimer

Communications transmitted on the default Meshtastic public channel are encrypted using a shared network encryption key that is publicly known within the Meshtastic ecosystem. Messages on this channel may be readable by other Meshtastic-compatible devices operating on the same channel within radio range. For private communications, users must configure private channels with unique, user-generated encryption keys as described in the setup guide included with each order. Direct messages between two specific nodes use public-key cryptography; however, a firmware vulnerability affecting some pre-2.6.11 device versions was identified and patched in June 2025. All devices supplied by this store ship with firmware version 2.6.11 or later. We make no warranty that any radio communication is fully secure against interception by a sophisticated adversary, and this product should not be used in contexts requiring certified or classified secure communications.

15. General liability limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law and subject to your statutory rights as a consumer which cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the purchase, use, or misuse of any product sold by this store is limited to the lesser of: (a) the replacement cost of the product; or (b) a refund of the purchase price you paid. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: loss arising from reliance on this product for safety, emergency, or critical communication purposes; loss of life or personal injury arising in a remote or off-grid environment; property damage; loss of income or profit; or any damages arising from failure of communication in an emergency situation. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition, implied or imposed by any legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
