How It Works

DOSnet devices use Meshtastic firmware running on LoRa radio hardware. Each device forms part of a decentralised mesh network — messages hop between nodes automatically, extending range without any central infrastructure.

Range: Up to 7km - 10km line-of-sight per node (with standard 5dBi antenna)
Frequency: 915MHz AU915 band — licence-free in Australia
Encryption: AES-128 end-to-end encrypted by default
App: Meshtastic (iOS & Android, free)
Pairing: Bluetooth 4.2 — connects to your phone in seconds

Compatibility

DOSnet devices are fully compatible with all other Meshtastic devices on the AU915 band. If you already have Meshtastic hardware configured for AU915, it will work alongside DOSnet devices on the same mesh.

Battery life varies on what battery you use, by usage and transmit interval - typical use is several days per charge in client mode, longer in low-power modes

Regulatory

DOSnet devices operate on the 915MHz ISM band under the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) class licence for low-interference potential devices. No individual licence is required.
